Women’s Film Festival

Brattleboro, Vermont March 2011

The annual Women's Film Festival in Brattleboro, Vermont, is a nonprofit fund raising event which benefits the Women’s Crisis Center. The Festival celebrates the lives and creativity of women and girls, and is an educational outreach tool of the Women's Crisis Center, whose mission is to end violence against women and girls. The Festival celebrates the lives and creativity of women and girls and showcases films that depict women's multi-faceted lives, gives a more human and humane context to world events, shows how those events affect women and girls and how women's lives impact on the world.

The Festival is held each year in March (Women's History Month). Documentary, animated and dramatic films are included as well as guest speakers, filmmakers, panel discussions and other community events highlighting women's issues and their place in the arts.

As the Women’s Film Festival approaches its twentieth year, our visibility has increased significantly. Beginning last year, the Festival began accepting unsolicited film submissions from new and seasoned filmmakers. We accept films from men and women filmmakers from around the world; however, the films must focus on women’s lives.
